About the York Ebor Meeting

Racing here dates back to the Roman and Viking times and with the area steeped so heavily in history and tradition racing at York is always a great spectacle.

Back in 2005 the track had the honour of holding the Royal Meeting due to the redevelopment of Ascot and the fact it was deemed fit enough to stage such a meeting further backs up the courses status, but in a normal year their biggest meeting of the year is their Ebor Meeting held each year in August.

Now spread over four days the Ebor Meeting is full of top class Group races that always attract big summer crowds as well as some of the best racehorses in training from all around the world.
